Soludo inaugurates 18 commissioners

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has inaugurated 18 commissioners alongside four other senior appointees into the State Executive Council, charging them to see their appointments as a call to service and accountability.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Monday at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Awka.
The newly appointed commissioners and their portfolios include Mr Ben Odoemena as Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Chukwukadibia Okoye for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Udoji Amedu for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, and Dr Ekene Ogugua for Education.
Others sworn in were Dr Clem Aguiyi as Commissioner for Environment, Dr Afam Obidike for Health, Dr Law Mefor for Information and Value Reorientation, and Prof. Offornze Amucheazi (SAN) for Lands.
Also inaugurated were Vin. Ezeaka for Local Government and Community Affairs, Prof. Charles Ofoegbu for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Mr Chijioke Ojukwu for Physical Planning and Urban Development, and Mr Casmir Agummadu for Power.
The list further includes Mr Okey Ezeobi as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr Eddy Ibuzo for Transport, Mrs Esther Onyekesi for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mr Patrick Agha for Youth Development and Sports, Mr Henry Arinze for Housing, and Mr Nonso Ebonwu for Commerce.
In addition to the commissioners, the governor also inaugurated four heads of government agencies.
They are Mr Emeka Okonkwo as Managing Director of the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency, Dr Ossy Onuko as Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr Fred Agbata as Managing Director of the Information Communication Technology Agency, and Mr Obi Okonkwo as Managing Director of the Bureau of Public Procurement.
Speaking during the ceremony, Soludo described the appointments as “a call to service, sacrifice and accountability.”
He urged the new officials to remain focused on governance and reminded them that their decisions and policies would have direct impact on millions of residents across the state.
The governor further advised them to manage their ministries and agencies with prudence, teamwork and dedication in line with the administration’s development agenda.
