Kumuyi Calls for Prayer Over Rising Insecurity in Nigeria

William Kumuyi has urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention as insecurity continues to affect parts of the country, stressing that spiritual renewal remains key to national healing.
Speaking during a visit linked to a week-long crusade in Benue State, the cleric said only God can provide lasting solutions to the nation’s deepening security challenges, adding that human efforts alone are not sufficient to restore peace.
He noted that the crusade in Gboko and Otukpo was aimed at encouraging citizens to return to faith and moral values as a pathway to addressing societal problems.
While acknowledging the progress recorded in Benue State, Kumuyi said insecurity still poses a major threat, with repeated attacks in rural communities displacing residents and forcing many into camps.
Government officials in the state, represented by the deputy governor, said efforts are ongoing to build a more peaceful and inclusive environment despite the security pressures.
The cleric’s remarks come amid continued debates over Nigeria’s security situation, where communities across several regions have faced recurring violent incidents and displacement.
