Gwarzo emerges NDC Kano governorship candidate

Former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Gwarzo, has secured the governorship ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), positioning him as the party’s flag bearer for the next governorship election in the state.
The development was announced by Gwarzo’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, who said the former deputy governor will be officially affirmed alongside other NDC candidates during the party’s affirmation ceremony.
According to him, the event will feature the formal endorsement of the party’s candidates for the State House of Assembly, National Assembly, governorship and presidential elections.
Gwarzo entered the race with a long record in public service.
He served as Deputy Governor of Kano State, was elected twice as a local government chairman and held commissioner portfolios in four ministries, where he played key roles in policy development and implementation.
He also served on the National Assembly Service Commission and chaired the Governing Board of the Federal College of Education, Kontagora.
His spokesperson said Gwarzo’s emergence is expected to boost the NDC’s campaign and strengthen the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections.
