Heirs Energies to spotlight Nigeria’s oil success

Heirs Energies is set to showcase Nigeria’s oil and gas industry success story, says Mr Osa Igiehon, Chief Executive Officer of the firm.
Igiehon will present a blueprint for building world-class, African-owned energy companies at the Namibia Oil Gas Conference (NOGC) 2025.
In a statement on Monday, Igiehon said Namibia is emerging as Africa’s next major oil frontier, offering opportunities for African-led innovation and leadership in the sector.
He said Heirs Energies aims to spotlight Nigeria’s achievements in oil and gas — proving what African-driven innovation and leadership can accomplish.
Igiehon will headline a session titled: ‘The Making of an African Independent’ on Aug. 14, sharing insights from Heirs Energies’ transformation of Nigeria’s OML 17 into a top indigenous-operated oil asset.
The session will open with a fireside chat between Igiehon and Dr Clemens von Doderer of the Hanns Seidel Foundation Namibia, followed by a high-level panel discussion.
Panellists will include senior representatives from Azule Energy, Rhino Resources Namibia, and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
“This conversation addresses the critical questions facing African independents today.
“How do we compete with global majors? How do we build sustainable operations balancing profit with purpose? Why is local expertise our greatest competitive advantage?
“African companies are not just participants in the global energy market — we are leaders. Combining African innovation with world-class execution delivers transformational results,” he said.
Heirs Energies, he noted, embodies the Africapitalism philosophy of Group Chairman Tony O. Elumelu — the belief that African private sector leadership can drive the continent’s development.
“From Nigeria to Namibia, we are rewriting the narrative of indigenous energy leadership.
“With the Orange Basin attracting billions in global investment, the question is no longer if African companies can compete — but how quickly we can scale,” he said.
Igiehon said the Heir Energies’ focus on innovation, environmental stewardship, and community development is shaping a more resilient and prosperous African energy future.
