Ramat Park flyover in Benin nears completion, Edo speaker confirms

The Edo State Speaker, Chief Blessing Agbebaku, has announced that the Ramat Park Flyover Bridge in Benin is progressing well and is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion once completed.
Agbebaku made the remarks while leading lawmakers on an inspection tour of ongoing projects in Benin Metropolis as part of the State Assembly’s oversight responsibilities.
He highlighted the government’s investments in infrastructure, education, and sports as part of its commitment to youth empowerment and improving residents’ quality of life.
According to the speaker, the flyover project has reached over 60 percent completion and is slated to be finished by July 2026.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction and commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for prioritizing the initiative.
Mr. Isibor Addeh, Chairman of the House Committee on Works, noted that the inspection team was impressed with the contractor’s progress.
Site Engineer for CCECC, Mr. Akinsola Usman, confirmed that key structural reinforcements and other critical work were ongoing, with over half of the project completed.
The oversight visit also included a stop at the renovated Army Day Secondary School at Ikpoba Hill, Benin.
The school has been upgraded with modern facilities, including a solar-powered science laboratory and a regulation football pitch.
Both Agbebaku and the school’s principal, Mr. Ezeliekhae Osemwenkae, praised the governor for the investment, noting the improvements will enhance learning and skills development for students.
Osemwenkae further urged the government to strengthen security measures at the school to prevent vandalism and protect the new facilities.
The Ramat Park Flyover and associated infrastructure projects are part of Edo State’s broader efforts to modernise urban transport, stimulate economic growth, and create better opportunities for residents.
